| Okay, Halloween has got to be my favorite night to take pics. This year 2008 I actually was requested to shoot two events; one Nikki’s of Venice and two the Townhouse Tavern’s burlessque show. First I went off to Nikki’s and it was PACKED with people in costumes. I took over 500 shots, then narrowed it down to around 170 to upload to my site – See the Pics here. |

| Then ran over to the Townhouse and shot Malie and her friends. The new camera kept up, but my Speedlight SB-800 just couldn’t keep up with me – which made me quite upset – and I ended up with too many ‘black’ frames from where the flash didn’t go off. So I took the small amount of images that were okay, and gave them an old time desaturated look, plus it made the girls pop out more when the crowd was darker and more desaturated. | I shot my friend Megan Tomczak for a model shoot. I wanted to try and shoot a little bit of fashion, headshots, and some creative lighting. I tried out my recently purchaced hot lights, but found I am going to need to get stobes if I want to do any type of fashion shooting. To see more of this shoot click here. |

Basement Model Space 0

| My next door neighbor has access to a basement room within my complex. She said I could use it to shoot if I needed to. So tonight I took my lights down there to see how it would work. Right now I only have ‘hot’ lights and found that if I was going to do any type of modeling shoots down there I was going to have to buy some strobes. The space could work out if I can get someone to model for me. I just got to remember not to shoot the ceiling – not sure what is up with that? |

| I have to say I have stayed loyal to the Nikon brand, as my first camera was actually a Pentex — but soon got a Nikon FM2. My first digital point and shoot camera was a Nikon 880. Then when I finally decided to go DSLR, I got the Nikon D70. To finally now I have a Nikon D700. |

| Took my new camera the Nikon D700 out after work to Hollywood Blvd. Took some pictures with my 17-35mm F 2.8 lens. I really didn’t realize how much my old camera Nikon D70 cropped with the DX lens, and how bad the quality of the image was. I think I really am going to love this camera. |

| My new camera came in today. It is a Nikon D700, and it’s so pretty. Took it out at dusk to take pictures at a high ISO (3200) and the pictures look incredible. I think iam in love – this is an incredible camera. |

| I headed over to Nikki’s to check out the architecture and measure the tables and chairs for my Maya 3D class. I needed to reference the layout and perspective of the bar, as I am modeling it in 3D space for my first assignment. Sheldon met me over there with a tape measure around 3:30pm — yep you guessed it we stayed there till 10pm. Okay, so I didn’t get a lot done that Saturday, but enjoyed the day. |
